My Source also says that it's getting planted every couple of weeks.

I doubt that it's really getting planted as much as it says.

More than likely it was getting planted every couple of weeks at one point.

Especially since it's a private lake.

To Clarify the Catfish stock at B.V.

I am not sure when the last time the newspaper claimed that they were stocking catfish every couple of weeks at B.V., so  I cannot determine they are correct or not. What I do know is the following: B.V. starts stocking TROUT in late October to November leading up to their annual trout derby around Febuary. They charge you an extra 6 bucks to fish for the trout once stocking begins through about March or April. And just to be sure we are all clear these stocks are only taking place in the small back lake named Lake Evans. Fishing in the larger Lake Webb never cost extra, just the gate fee, but you are subject to the native bluegill, crappie, bass, carp, and catfish (and rumor has it there are actually large striper, and even the legendary sturgeon) since there is no regular stocking of Lake Webb.  That was the whole story until a couple of years ago.  They started stocking CATFISH following the last trout stocks to prepare for the annual Catfish Derby around May.  They continue to charge the extra 6 bucks to fish for these catfish.  The catfish are stocked every couple of weeks at least until the Catfish Derby then they continue stocking for a month or two while they are still generating interest from enough anglers willing to pay and target the catfish.  I don't know the exact date of the last stock for 2010, but I think it would be safe to say they were stocking at least till the beginning of August.  They are not currently charging the extra $6 to fish Lake Evans and I do see the occasional 2-5 lbr still being dragged out, most likely left overs from the stocking program. So it is not a bad deal to go fish there now. The trout stock is coming and so is the extra charge.  I guess what it boils down to is that the more anglers that show interest and support for the stocking program by willingly paying there fees, the longer the good fishing will remain.  A good side idea that I think B.V. should consider is a pay up front annual fishing pass for Lake Evans.

Hope this is helpful to someone!

Go get some fish!!!

just saying

im pretty dam sure they didnt stock in august last stock was rite before the derby in may thats what my sources tell me....anyways thats why i was critizizing the news paper that shall remain nameless but last week for the first time in months of no planting at bv the paper got it rite and didnt mention plants like they did the weeks and months before
