Caught this 4lb bass on 8/5/2010 2PM from my small motorized inflatable pontoon boat while fishing off steep rocks at Lake Isabella’s French Gulf Area. I was using my usual watermelon stick worm with scented oil added which I always had the best luck on in this lake. It put up one good fight. I released it at the docks after taking this photo.

A decent little Bass from River Walk Park. By the way the Blue Gill are still pretty active out there on redworms. Caught this little guy on Monday the 20th of July in the evening on a live minnow left over from a recent Lake Isabella trip. I suggest fishing at River Walk, the action is quite surprising once you get to know the area.

The bass are lurking!

Crappie Time, Bass Too!!
Submitted by Addicted to the bite on Thu, 05/06/2010 - 13:12Crappie are pretty good everywhere. Bass are also on the chew. The crappie on the red tailgate are from Isabella yesterday. thas was my first trip to Isabella this year for crappie in the evening after work, and I caught five in an hour or so before it got too windy and cold for me. The other two crappie are from River Walk. The bigger bass is from BV. The little bass is from River Walk. No pics of the cats, but they too are on fire at BV. These are only a fraction of the fish I have caught over the last week or so, I don't take nearly enough pictures. The spring time fishing is on. Get out and get some.

Kern River 8-21-09
Submitted by Dave on Fri, 08/21/2009 - 21:36The roadside section of the upper Kern has been good for fly anglers fishing small dries early and late in the day during hatches and egg-laying flights. Best action is in the upper couple of miles of the roadside stretch or on above the Johnsondale Bridge in the wild trout section. Water temps are cooler in this stretch, where the flows are under 300 cfs and dropping. The lower river flows are also down and falling, at 700 cfs early this week. Richbar, Hobo areas best for smallmouth bass anglers fishing spinners, crawlers, and plastics. Also a few cats on the lower river on clams.
